When the machine or weights you want to use are in use, you can always find another way of doing it!

The squat rack was taken, and so tonight I had to use the leg press for my squats and lunges - or rather single leg, leg presses ☺
.

Tuesday 17th April Workout . 🚲. HIIT session on the wattbike =
10 rounds of 45 seconds high followed by 60 seconds moderate @ 4 intensity, total distance 9,827m with an average split of 1:46.9 . 💪. Followed up with a cheeky little resistance session =
- leg press with 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg each x 10 reps of each weight
- abductor 37.5kg, 35kg, 32.5kg, 30kg, 32.5kg, 35kg, 37.5kg x 10 reps of each weight
- single leg press 25kg, 30kg, 35kg x 10 reps of each weight
- calf raise leg press 35kg, 40kg, 50kg, 60kg, 70kg x 10 reps of each weight
- planks with straight arm on a bosu ball 1 min x 6 reps
- side planks with straight arm on a bosu ball 1 min x 3 reps each arm .

Today's Tip... there's no need for excuses!
I took a fall Friday evening and bashed my elbow giving myself a grizzly bloody graze 😔 In addition to the graze, there's some nice swelling going on, and as much as I want to get back on the weights and up those climbing walls I'm giving it time for the swelling to reduce incase I've damaged the bone.
This doesn't mean I can't find other exercises to do that won't aggravate it... I'm on my way out to meet a mate and have ten mins to spare, and despite being dressed ready for leaving the house there's nothing stopping me from being able to fit in a few squats before I do ☺
Provided your clothing gives you the full range of flexibility required, you can fit simple exercises like lunges and squats into your normal day; like whilst waiting for you kettle to boil, or during the ad breaks.

Having pushed myself in the last couple of climbing sessions + doing 100 squats a day, I'm finding my legs are feeling dead most of the week & so when it comes to my hiit sessions I think I'm going to have to cut them down to prevent burnout.

Frustrating, but sometimes you need to just know when to cut back and give yourself some rest. .
But a positive end to my gym session this evening; I am incredibly pleased to see how well my back is building up ☺

I've always had a sticky-outy spine, and for once its finally starting to blend in amongst the muscles I'm building up. Very satisfying!

Wednesday 11th April Workout

💪 Cheeky little resistance session:
- kettlebell swing 12kg x 10 reps x 4 sets
- dumbell overhead press 8kg x 10 reps, 7kg x 10 reps x 3 sets
- lateral shoulder raise 4kg x 10 reps x 4 sets
- dumbell bicep curl 8kg x 10 reps, 7kg x 10 reps x 3 sets
- tricep cable pull down 10kg x 10 reps, 12.5kg x 10 reps x 3 sets
- vertical traction 25kg x 10 reps x 2 sets, 27.5kg x 10 reps x 2 sets .
- plank on a bosu ball 60 seconds x 6 reps
- side plank on a bosu ball, each side 60 seconds x 3 reps

It's all too easy, jumping in the car - or in my case on my scooter! - to nip about your local area, but when it's not chucking it down, I've no excuse not to walk!

After todays gym session I decided to walk down into town to collect my parcel, and given how gorgeous an afternoon it was it seemed foolish not to walk back through the park and stop off to enjoy the rays. So in addition to my gym work out, I walked a solid 3.7 mile round trip to the park and back 😎

I feel spoilt to have such a beautiful park just minutes from my flat ☺

Saturday April 7th

Simple steady ride on the bike:
10 minutes at a moderate pace - total distance 5,748m with an average split of 1:44.2
.
💪 Cheeky little resistance session:
- dumbell overhead press 7kg x 10 reps x 3 sets
- lateral & frontal shoulder raise 4kg x 10 reps x 3 sets
- dumbell bicep curl 7kg x 10 reps x 3 sets
- tricep cable pull down 10kg x 10 reps, 10kg+ power mode x 10 reps, 12.5kg x 10 reps
- lateral pull down 25kg x 10 reps, 27.5kg x 10 reps, 25kg x 10 reps

- press ups on a bosu ball x 10 reps x 3 sets
- plank on a bosu ball 60 seconds x 9 reps
- side plank on a bosu ball, each side 60 seconds x 3 reps
